$800, jewelry taken during home invasion

9/16/2002

Two armed men made off with $800 and a pair of gold earrings during a home invasion in the 4100 block of Commonwealth Avenue early yesterday.

The incident occurred about 2:45 a.m. when two men, one holding a rifle and the other a handgun, entered an unlocked door at 4103 Commonwealth.

Donna Fabris told police she was sleeping on the couch and her father, Donald Fabris, was in an upstairs bedroom.

She said the suspects woke her up, asked if there was anyone else at the house, then forced her into an upstairs bathroom.

The suspects then entered Mr. Fabris bedroom and struck him on the head with a handgun. Police said the suspects forced Mr. Fabris to open his safe and then lie face down on the floor before fleeing.
