Police sketch of rapist is released

Assailant: medium build, 5-10

Toledo police released a composite sketch yesterday of a man who raped an 80-year-old West Toledo woman in her residence Friday.

She was in fair condition at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center yesterday.

The woman described her assailant as 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a medium build, and in his 20s.

The woman told police that she was doing household chores when she was attacked at 1 p.m. at her home near Lewis Avenue and Alexis Road. All six officers with the police department's personal assault unit are working on the case.

No similar sex crimes have been reported in the area recently.
