Fire does $60K damage to house in Sylvania

10/16/2002

A Sylvania family fled their burning home at 4549 Tamworth Rd. unharmed yesterday. The blaze caused $60,000 damage.

Firefighters were called to the two-story residence, the home of the Douglas Roshong family, at 12:12 a.m. and found flames coming through the roof, fire Chief Chris Maurer said.

An investigation showed the blaze started in a chimney because a fire was burning in the fireplace, he said.
