Drug charges filed against Toledo siblings

1/3/2003

Two Toledo siblings were charged yesterday with trafficking in drugs after a Sylvania Township officer found 28 grams of marijuana and nearly $1,000 during a traffic stop, authorities said.

Township police stopped Danielle Whitlock, 23, of 1660 Freeman St. for traveling 81 mph in a 65 mph zone northbound yesterday about 3:15 a.m. on U.S. 23 north of West Central Avenue.

Ms. Whitlock was traveling with her brother, Trell Williams, 23, of 1717 Macomber St. who was asked to exit the vehicle, police said.

During a search, police allegedly recovered marijuana in his jacket pocket and under a stocking cap. Mr. Williams had about $967 on him, police said. More marijuana was found under a floor mat. Ms. Whitlock apparently knew that Mr. Williams had the drugs on him, police said. The car was impounded.

Mr. Williams was being held at the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $3,500 bond.

He is scheduled to return to court on Wednesday for a preliminary hearing. Ms. Whitlock's bond was set at $1,000. She is scheduled to return to court on Jan. 13 for a pre-trial hearing.
