Arrest nets suspect in drug case

PORT CLINTON - A local man was arrested on multiple drug charges yesterday by the Ottawa County Drug Task Force and Ottawa County sheriff's deputies serving a warrant, authorities said.

Donnie L. Jackson, 46, was arrested about 2 p.m. at 1240 North Rymers Rd. after authorities received a tip he was hiding there and made a forced entry into the home. The arrest was the result of grand jury indictments, the Ottawa County prosecuting attorney's office said.

Mr. Jackson, who had crack cocaine at the time, had been indicted on five counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of complicity to traffic cocaine, and one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

After the arrest, law enforcement officers obtained a search warrant for the North Rymers address from Ottawa County Common Pleas Court, searched the residence, and found and confiscated unspecified drugs and drug paraphernalia.

Mr. Jackson was booked into the Ottawa County Jail, where he was being held without bond last night.
