Woman's body found in N. Toledo

4/24/2003

The partially clothed body of a woman was found yesterday hidden under bushes on the property of a business in an industrial area in North Toledo.

The unidentified body was found by employees of A. Mindel & Son, Inc., 4200 Creekside Ave., as they were walking on the property, Toledo police Lt. Rick Reed said.

Police were dispatched about 12:50 p.m. and found the body on its side under bushes near a service drive and a gravel parking area. The woman's race and age are unknown.

“She'd been dead awhile,” the lieutenant said.

The body was in a state of decomposition, said Steve Kahle, a Lucas County coroner's investigator. An autopsy is planned for today. Authorities said the woman's death appears to be a homicide.

Lieutenant Reed said investigators are going through missing-person reports to see whether they can find a match.
