2 South Toledo seniors fall prey to burglars

Toledo police are investigating two burglaries at the homes of elderly people in South Toledo in which at least two men entered the victims' houses and demanded money.

An 81-year-old man's wallet was taken during a burglary about 4:10 a.m. yesterday in the 3100 block of Cragmoor Avenue. The men entered the house through an open bathroom window and awakened the victim. They demanded his wallet and, after getting it, fled out a side door, burglary detectives said.

Police are investigating whether the men were involved in a similar incident less than a mile away at an 80-year-old woman's house in the 3000 block of Frampton Drive.

Two men entered the house about 11:40 p.m. June 25 through the unlocked front door and confronted the victim, who was in a back room watching television. The men asked for her purse and, after receiving it, fled, detectives said.
