2 men hold up branch of National City Bank

7/19/2003

Two men robbed a National City Bank branch of an undisclosed amount of money yesterday and may have fled in a car driven by a woman.

The men entered the bank, 625 East Manhattan Blvd., about 2:15 p.m. and ordered the tellers to give them money from the drawers. One of them had a handgun, while the other had a light gray plastic or nylon bag used to collect the money, the Toledo FBI said.

The suspects fled the bank and were last seen riding in a bluish-gray Honda Accord with no rear license plate near a shopping center behind the bank. A black female was driving the car, which was approaching an expressway on-ramp. Authorities don't know if the suspects drove onto the expressway.

Both men were described as black and were wearing sunglasses. The one with the handgun was 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and was wearing a do-rag, dark sweatshirt with the hood pulled up, baggy clothes, and gloves.

The suspect carrying the bag was described as 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with a medium build and light complexion. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a red or blue bandana on his face.
