ADRIAN - The former girls' varsity basketball coach for Onsted Community Schools will be sentenced Sept. 29 after pleading no contest to three misdemeanor charges involving sexual contact with a player.

Henry Eugene Cochran, Jr., 34, was taken to the Lenawee County jail with no bond after submitting his plea Monday. The Spring Arbor, Mich., man is accused of having inappropriate contact with a student who was 16 and 17 at the time of the offenses.

He pleaded no contest to charges of engaging in indecent, insulting, immoral, or obscene conduct in any public place; committing an immoral exhibition or indecent espouse; and enticing a minor into a motor vehicle by threat, promise, or false statement. Three other charges were dismissed.

Police said the incidents occurred at Onsted High School, in its gym, and on basketball trips from Thanksgiving last year until the beginning of March.
