FOSTORIA — A Fostoria man accused of shooting a man in the ankle during a dispute at a mobile home court is in custody in Paulding County after state troopers arrested him on unrelated charges, authorities said yesterday.

Bobby J. Williams, 34, is charged with shooting Kelly Norman in the left ankle during an argument about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday in the Nyes Trailer Park north of the city.

Police said Mr. Williams fired two shots into the ground before the third bullet struck Mr. Norman, whose age and address were unavailable.

The victim was taken to Fostoria Community Hospital; information on his condition was not available.

Mr. Williams was arrested at 10:47 p.m. on State Rt. 613 near Latty, two miles south of Paulding. Trooper Jared Miller, who arrested Mr. Williams on charges of driving left of center, driving under suspension, and falsification, said yesterday he was unaware Mr. Williams was a shooting suspect at the time of the traffic stop.

Fostoria police have charged Mr. Williams with one count of felonious assault. A $15,000 bond was signed by Municipal Court Judge John Hadacek.

No date was set for the suspect's return to Fostoria.
