Toledo police seek man accused of rape

Toledo police are seeking through the Crime Stopper program information on the whereabouts of a man charged with raping a 22-year-old woman after breaking into her East Manhattan Boulevard home Aug. 10, 2002.

Warrants have been issued for Neil R. Newmister, 29, whose last known address was in Luckey, Ohio. He was indicted Jan. 7 on rape and aggravated burglary charges.

He may have fled to Texas, but police think he may have returned to the area. He may be driving a white, two-door, 1991 Dodge Stealth with Ohio license plates AQ98RU. He is 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 178 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stopper at 419-255-1111. Callers may remain anonymous.
