Firefighters from five Toledo stations spent about 40 minutes battling a suspected arson fire in an abandoned North Toledo house yesterday morning.

Firefighters arrived at 833 Oakwood Ave. shortly after 9 a.m. and found several fires going inside the boarded-up wood-frame house, the chief said. It took about 40 minutes to extinguish the blaze, Battalion Chief Phil Cervantes said.

No firefighters were injured, and arson investigators were on the scene, Chief Cervantes said. A damage estimate was pending.
