BOWLING GREEN — A Toledo man and two Toledo teenagers are facing charges after a Wood County sheriff's deputy found them with two stolen cars along State Rt. 25 near Cygnet.

Charles Torres, 21, of 224 Eastern Ave. and two 16-year-olds were arrested Sunday. The Blade does not identify minors unless they are charged with serious crimes.

According to a sheriff's office report, a 1990 Honda Accord stolen from Toledo and a 1996 Dodge Intrepid taken from Bowling Green, had damaged steering columns, broken ignition systems, and broken window glass.

A sheriff's deputy saw the cars on the side of Route 25 about 2:30 a.m. and thought the occupants were having mechanical trouble. During a search of the three, he found that one of the teens was carrying about an ounce of packaged marijuana, the report said.

Mr. Torres appeared yesterday in Bowling Green Municipal Court on two counts of receiving stolen property and one count of possession of criminal tools. Bond was set at $15,000, and for a preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 24.

One of the 16-year-olds is scheduled to be arraigned Jan. 8 in Wood County Juvenile Court on a charge of delinquency by receiving stolen property. The other is charged with delinquency by felony trafficking in drugs, and is scheduled for an adjudication hearing Nov. 26 in juvenile court.
