Crime Stopper offers cash for aid in solving 2 holdups

1/24/2004

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about two robberies - one at a beauty salon, the other at a barber shop - committed by two men wearing ski masks and carrying handguns.

The first holdup occurred Oct. 10 at Hair It Iz, 1826 West Bancroft St. Two men entered the salon and pointed guns at the staff and customers. The victims were forced into a back room after their money and valuables were taken, police said.

Two months later, two men with guns entered Kynard's Barber Shop, 863 West Central Ave. The staff and customers were forced to the floor and robbed in the Dec. 4 crime.

The suspects in both robberies were black. One was described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall and about 180 pounds. The other was slightly shorter and heavier. They were dressed in black clothing.

Anyone with information about the robberies or any other crime is asked to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
