ADRIAN — Two Lenawee County men were arraigned Tuesday on several charges stemming from the break-in of a home and the theft of weapons and a safe.

Jason Yancer, 20, of Adrian and Daniel Long, 22, of Morenci were charged with one count each of second-degree home invasion, felony firearms possession, safe breaking, and theft in a building.

Adrian police arrested the two men after they were discovered returning large amounts of rolled and loose coins at the local Meijer store Monday.

Police said the two allegedly broke into the home of some|one Mr. Yancer knew and stole two safes and weapons. They then allegedly took the safes to Mr. Long's residence and broke into them.

The rolled coins the men were attempting to cash in matched a description of those in the safe, police said.

If found guilty of the felony charges, the two could face life in prison. They were being held in the Lenawee County jail awaiting a March 8 preliminary exam in Lenawee County District Court.
