One of two men sought for the shooting death of another man during a party at a house in South Toledo in December was arrested last night in the Weiler Homes in East Toledo, police said.

Pablo Ruiz, 26, of 915 Vinton St., who was being sought on an arrest warrant charging him with murder, was taken into custody at 1061 Sisson Drive. He was being held in the Lucas County jail pending arraignment today in Toledo Municipal Court, police said.

An arrest warrant also was issued for Edmundo Ruiz, 25, of Monclova Road in Monclova Township, charging him with complicity in the death of Orlando Ochoa, 21. He was shot in the chest Dec. 14 at 270 Walbridge Ave.

Police said Pablo Ruiz confronted Mr. Ochoa on the second floor of the house and fired a shot at the floor. A 31-year-old woman who was in the first-floor kitchen was hit by the bullet. Pablo Ruiz then allegedly shot Mr. Ochoa once in the chest. He died in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

Detectives said Edmundo Ruiz assisted in the shooting by supplying the gun and helping Pablo Ruiz flee.

Edmundo Ruiz was still at large last night, detectives said.
