Toledo man wounded in thigh

A West Toledo man was wounded in the thigh yesterday during what police said was a drug-related shooting inside his residence.

Sedrick Bishop, 42, of 1802 Ottawa Drive, was in good condition in Toledo Hospital after the shooting about 8:40 a.m. He let the shooter, whom he knows as "Tony," into his home. The man pulled a 9mm handgun, intending to rob the victim, and asked for drugs, Detective Kermit Quinn said.

Mr. Bishop said he didn't have any and pleaded with the gunman not to shoot him, but the assailant shot him anyway. The man fled on foot. Mr. Bishop ran next door, where the residents called 911, the detective said. He said police recovered some suspected marijuana at the scene.
