4 males sought in Sylvania Township jewel heist

6/12/2004

Sylvania Township police are looking for tips on four males who broke into a jewelry store and loaded sacks with jewelry before fleeing.

One threw a piece of concrete into the rear-office window of David Fairclough Jewelers, 7141 West Central Ave., about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday and entered the store. Police believe the suspect let in his accomplices, all of whom can be seen on videotape using hammers to break glass display cases and putting jewelry into sacks they were carrying. They were inside for about two minutes.

Authorities don't have an exact dollar loss but said many items were taken. The business is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to arrests and convictions in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call township police at 419-882-2055.
