7/10/2004

Toledo police are looking for help in identifying a man who broke into a West Toledo business this month and took $2,200.

The burglar pried open the back door of Lay's Transmission, 378 Phillips Ave., about 4:50 a.m. July 1 and took the money. Several similar break-ins have occurred in the area, investigators said.

The burglar drove off in a candy-apple red car, possibly a Hyundai or other compact hatchback. The car has a large spoiler on the back and blue neon lights where the windshield squirters are located.

The man was described as white, in his 40s, about 6 feet tall, with a fit build and graying hair. He wore tan pants and a red shirt. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stopper program at 419-255-1111.
