Police are searching for two men who hijacked a vehicle in Monroe County early today and fled to Toledo, where they abandoned the vehicle and alluded police.

The suspects approached a man deputies would not identify in his Monroe Township driveway about 2 a.m. and, brandished a handgun, and demanded the man's vehicle.

Monroe police officers spotted the vehicle heading south on Telegraph and gave pursuit. They were joined by officers from Erie Township and, as the vehicle entered Toledo, by Toledo police.

Attempts to stop the vehicle failed and police lost the vehicle near Mallet Street and Thorton Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. The vehicle was later found in the neighborhood.
