West Toledo resident accused of stabbing wife

8/12/2004

A West Toledo woman was seriously hurt yesterday during a stabbing that police said was committed by her husband during an apparent domestic incident.

Sheryll Hatcher, 40, of 2255 West Laskey Rd., No. 5, was in serious condition at Toledo Hospital after she was found stabbed in the chest at her apartment. Her husband, Robert Hatcher, 37, also of the West Laskey address, was being held in the Lucas County jail pending arraignment today on a felonious assault charge.

Police found the victim about 4 a.m. on the bedroom floor. A knife was found on the floor in a front room. Court records said she was stabbed with a butcher knife.

Police stopped a van, driven by the suspect, that was seen leaving the area. Officers then took him into custody.
