Police find car with blood; female owner missing

TEMPERANCE Monroe County sheriff s detectives are searching for a 22-year-old Toledo woman they suspect may be the victim of foul play.

While investigating a report of a stolen car a week ago in Temperance, authorities found a 1991 Pontiac Grand Am belonging to Shane Marie Turner, 22, whose last known address was 1419 Lebanon St., parked on a street a half-block away.

Ms. Turner s car had its steering column damaged and had a small amount of blood on the driver-side door, Detective Tom Redmond said. The car was never reported stolen, and its registration tags had expired, according to Detective Redmond.

Authorities in Monroe County and Toledo have tried for a week to track down Ms. Turner but have been unable to find anyone who s seen her.

Detective Redmond said they worry she may have been the victim of foul play because car thieves who stole a car a half-block away have been tied to a series of other crimes on both sides of the state line.

Anyone with information about Ms. Turner is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff s Department.
