BOWLING GREEN During the second day of his trial in Wood County Common Pleas Court, a Bowling Green man charged with assaulting two officers at the county jail entered pleas yesterday to two reduced charges.

Jamie Gonzales, 36, pleaded no contest to one count of assault and one count of resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Judge Alan Mayberry placed him on probation for two years and suspended a 240-day jail sentence.

In February, Mr. Gonzales struggled with a Bowling Green police officer who had taken him to the Wood County jail after arresting him on a voyeurism charge.

The officer s hand was broken during the assault. Mr. Gonzales also struggled with a sheriff s deputy at the jail.

When his jury trial began Tuesday, Mr. Gonzales was facing two felony counts of assault on a peace officer.
