Patrol to target drivers on Paulding County roads

VAN WERT The Ohio Highway Patrol will target Paulding County highways for enforcement in October in an effort to lower its state-leading fatality rate.

Paulding County averages 4.53 traffic deaths per 100 million vehicle miles traveled compared to the state average of 1.16 deaths, according to state troopers.

This year, six motorists have been killed in traffic crashes in Paulding County. Only one of those motorists was wearing a safety belt.
