BOWLING GREEN - Wood County sheriff's deputies were looking for a Wayne, Ohio, man who took off in a jail jumpsuit from St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee on Thursday.

Allan Puckett, 42, was transported from the county jail in Bowling Green to Perrysburg Municipal Court by Perrysburg Municipal Court deputy bailiffs, but was then sent to the hospital in an ambulance after complaining of chest pains.

Chief Bailiff Doug Spencer said the charge against Mr. Puckett - illegal processing of drug documents - was dismissed at the prosecutor's request, so the court did not send an officer to accompany Mr. Puckett to the hospital.

Mr. Spencer said the officers were unaware that Mr. Puckett was wanted on charges in Hancock, Henry, and Sandusky counties.

When Mr. Puckett got to St. Luke's, he walked out of the emergency department and got into a minivan registered to his mother, authorities said.

Deputies issued an arrest warrant, charging Mr. Puckett with escape.
