The man who left behind his driver's license when he robbed a Charter One Bank in East Toledo Oct. 6 was arrested yesterday in the Grand Motel on Telegraph Road in Monroe County's Bedford Township, Toledo police said.

He also was accused by the FBI of robbing a KeyBank on Suder Avenue Oct. 18.

John Lee Robinson, 42, of 1323 Belmont Ave., was arrested about 5 p.m. and was being held in the Monroe County jail pending extradition to Toledo on an aggravated robbery warrant issued after the first robbery.

A man entered the Charter One Bank branch at 602 Main St. about 2:20 p.m. Oct. 6, put his driver's license on the tellers' counter, and then wrote a teller a note explaining that he was armed with a gun and wanted money. After being given $2,525 in cash, the man fled, in a maroon and gray Ford station wagon, with the money but without the license, police said.

Twelve days later, a man identified as Mr. Robinson walked into the KeyBank branch at 5730 Suder about 2:35 p.m., pretended he had a gun, and demanded money from a teller. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a station wagon that matched the description of the one used in the Charter One robbery, the FBI said.
