Police seek help solving thefts from vehicles during church services

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about thefts from vehicles while people are attending church services.

The first occurred Sept. 29 at 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd. Two incidents occurred Oct. 6 - one at 5500 Nebraska Ave., the other at 5025 Glendale Ave. Eight days later, the fourth theft occurred at 4909 West Sylvania Ave.

The thief is described as white, about 6 feet tall, thin, with short, dark hair. He has been seen driving a maroon van with temporary plates.

Anyone with information on the thefts is asked to call the Crime Stopper program.

The Crime Stopper committee announced its latest rewards for tips that led police to suspects in various cases, including robberies and a murder.

The rewards, which total about $2,250, go to callers A9650, A9825, A9829, A9855, and A9857. They are asked to contact the Crime Stopper program.
