A man was shot in his lower legs by a pellet gun late Friday night after going to the house of a man who had fled a West Toledo party after a fight, police said.

Anthony J. Lawrence, 18, of Toledo, was treated at Toledo Hospital for the wounds. Two pellets were removed from his legs and turned over to authorities, police said.

The shooting occurred about 11 p.m. in the 1500 block of Vance Street, where Mr. Lawrence and a witness had gone to confront a man they saw leave a party on Oakwood Avenue. One of the witnesses identified the man as the father of someone he knew, police said.

The suspect was accused of striking two pedestrians with a sport utility vehicle in his haste to leave the scene, according to a police report.

The report said that when Mr. Lawrence and his companion arrived in the 1500 block of Vance, they heard someone say I m right here, from an upstairs window. Three shots were fired, the report said.

The suspect remained at large yesterday, police said.
