BERLIN HEIGHTS, Ohio - The Erie County sheriff's office is considering additional charges against a Norwalk, Ohio, man who was involved in a Thanksgiving eve fight with a Berlin Township man who died earlier this week.

Charles Case, 25, is charged with one count of felonious assault in the Nov. 24 beating of Brian Green, 36, who died Monday in Medical College of Ohio Hospitals. Mr. Case is being held in the Erie County jail in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

Mr. Green and Mr. Case were involved in a fight about 6 p.m. that ended with Mr. Green falling backward and hitting his head on his driveway, sheriff's Capt. Paul Sigsworth said of the incident.

Mr. Green's live-in girlfriend, Rebecca Castle, who is a cousin of Mr. Case, called 911 the next morning when she found Mr. Green to be incoherent. "He was conscious, but unable to communicate," the captain said.

Mr. Green was taken to Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, then transferred to MCO Hospitals.

Dr. Cynthia Beisser, a Lucas County deputy coroner, said an autopsy showed Mr. Green died of blunt-force head injuries. She ruled his death a homicide.
