A bill of information was filed this week against a former Michigan man for the robbery last year of a Sylvania Township bank branch.

Garvin E. Williams, 27, who has no current address, is being held without bond in the Lucas County jail. He is charged with bank robbery.

He is scheduled to make an initial appearance Jan. 11 in U.S. District Court, where the bill of information was filed Monday, said Thomas Weldon, an assistant U.S. attorney.

The charge pertains to the May 20 holdup of the KeyBank branch, 5756 West Central Ave. A man entered the bank, gave a teller a note demanding money, received an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled in a car, authorities said.
