A Springfield Township man was accused yesterday of firing shots at a group of juveniles on their way to a carryout in South Toledo.

Julius Walker, 23, of 6201 Garden Rd., was being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $25,000 bond on a felonious assault charge after an arraignment in Toledo Municipal Court.

The victims were at Heatherdowns Boulevard and Perrysburg-Holland Road just before midnight Friday when they heard the suspect and three other males yelling. They started to walk home when the suspects drove past them, pulled over, and jumped out of the truck wanting to fight them, police said.

Mr. Walker is accused of pointing a gun at the victims, threatening to shoot them, and firing two shots. The victims ran home and called police. The suspects fled in the truck. Mr. Walker was later located and arrested on unrelated warrants.
