DEARBORN - A Monroe County man was in the Dearborn city jail last night after he allegedly made threats to harm employees at the Ford truck plant in Dearborn yesterday.

As a result, the plant's day-shift operations were halted and a nearby school went into a security alert, Dearborn police said.

Police declined to identify the man last night.

The incident began yesterday morning after the man called a Monroe County dispatcher and said he was headed to the truck plant with a 44-caliber Magnum handgun and an AK-47 rifle. Authorities in Dearborn and in Monroe County began a search for the man.

At 10 a.m. he was found at his home in northern Monroe County by sheriff's deputies, who brought him to the county jail, Capt. Dan Mylesinski said.

Dearborn police later transported the suspect to their jail.

Charges have yet to be filed as police are continuing their investigation.
