A Toledo man was found bleeding from a stab wound in the chest about 7:15 p.m. yesterday on the second floor of the house at 2517 Auburn Ave. near West Delaware Avenue.

Lorenzo Hudson, 46, was taken to Toledo Hospital, where he was in critical condition last night, a nursing supervisor at the hospital said.

Mr. Hudson told police he was walking on the Auburn Avenue overpass over I-475 about 7 p.m. when a man in his 20s with a moustache approached, told him, "Gimme what you got," stabbed him with a small pocket knife, and ran away, police said.

Mr. Hudson then went to his home, where he collapsed in the hallway as he was coming out of the second-floor bathroom, his ex-wife reportedly told police.

First responders arrived at the home about 7:15 p.m. and treated the man at the scene before taking him to the hospital. Officers later went to the Auburn Avenue overpass but were unable to locate the alleged crime scene, the police report said.

No arrests had been made late last night, police said.
