A Toledo woman was arrested Friday after she was accused of trying three times to run over her ex-boyfriend with her car during an argument in the 1900 block of Elm Street, police said.

Evelyn Grace, 22, of 2820 Collingwood Blvd., was charged with felonious assault and booked into the Lucas County jail.

She was arraigned yesterday in Toledo Municipal Court, posted 10 percent of a $20,000 bond, and was released pending further court action.

Multiple witnesses told police that Ms. Grace, who was in her car, and Kevin Giles, 26, whose address was being withheld, were yelling at each other about 5:15 p.m. when she aimed the vehicle at him, hit the gas, and struck him, causing him to roll onto the hood and into the windshield. He then fell off.

Ms. Grace then put the car in reverse and tried to run over Mr. Giles again, at which time he dodged the vehicle but punched in a window before falling down again.

That s when she put the car in drive, striking him for a second time and breaking the driver s side mirror, witnesses told police.

The extent of Mr. Giles injuries was unknown.
