Two South Toledoans were arraigned yesterday in Sylvania Municipal Court after they were charged with staging a robbery in order to steal a $10,000 deposit from one of their employers, Lucas County sheriff's detectives said.

David L. Walker, 22, of 2101 Cummings Ave., was being held in the county jail on a $10,000 bond on a theft charge. Jacklyn Givens, 20, of 3459 Gibralter Heights Drive, was released from the jail after posting a $1,000 bond on the charges of false alarm and complicity to grand theft.

Ms. Givens, an employee at the Sterling store, 6775 Dorr St., Springfield Township, told detectives that a man yelled for her to stop Friday as she approached the front door of the National City Bank branch, 7015 Spring Meadows Drive West, in Springfield Township. He punched her in the side of the head and grabbed her money bag containing $10,000.

She later recanted to detectives and said the robbery was a set-up.
