Sandusky man fatally shot, coroner rules

3/2/2005

SANDUSKY - A Sandusky man who was found dead last week was killed by two gunshot wounds, the Erie County coroner said yesterday.

Dr. Brian Baxter said Bertrum Harrington, 45, was likely slain at least two weeks before his body was found Friday in a lot on Third Street. The coroner said initial results of an autopsy done in Lucas County showed that Mr. Harrington was killed by gunshots to his chest and neck.

Sandusky police began an investigation recently into a possible homicide after finding an abandoned vehicle with bloodstains inside.

No arrests have been made.
