Suspect held in Huron County murder

GREENWICH, Ohio - The former boyfriend of a Huron County woman who was stabbed to death over the weekend was being held under a suicide watch in the Huron County jail in connection with her murder.

Doyle Wayne Matlock, 40, is charged with one count of murder in the slaying Saturday of Lori Ann Wright, 32, who was stabbed repeatedly in her Greenwich home, said Steve Palmer, Greenwich law director. Bond was set at $750,000 during an appearance Monday in Norwalk Municipal Court.

Mr. Palmer said Mr. Matlock's driver's license lists an address in Polk, Ohio, but that investigators were told he had recently returned to southeastern Huron County from Kentucky in part because he had no place to live. The law director would not discuss a motive for the murder.
