A 41-year-old Toledo woman was arraigned yesterday, accused of sexually assaulting a 51-year-old woman with a wooden club after the suspect thought the victim was having a relationship with her boyfriend, police said.

Jackie Alexander of 405 Hyatt Lane was being held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of a $300,000 bond on rape, felonious assault, and kidnapping charges after arraignment in Toledo Municipal Court. The victim, of Toledo, was being treated in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

Ms. Alexander confronted the victim at her home about 2 p.m. Monday about the relationship, which the victim denied. She then allegedly began beating the victim. She grabbed the club and hit the victim in the head, face, and body, police said.

During the ordeal, the victim fell down a handful of steps and Ms. Alexander allegedly wouldn't let her leave the residence. Ms. Alexander then sexually assaulted the victim several times with the club, police said. The victim fled the residence and called 911.
