The Luck of the Irish may not be on your side if you have too much to drink on St. Patrick's Day.

Officers from 15 area law enforcement agencies in Lucas and Wood counties will be on the lookout for impaired drivers, speeders, and those not wearing seat belts and committing other traffic offenses.

Patrols will start hitting the street as early as 3 p.m. tomorrow in Toledo, police Lt. Kevin Keel said.

Patrols that are a part of the Lucas County DUI Task Force will be out through 3 a.m. Monday. Officers in Northwood, Rossford, and Perrysburg city and township also will participate in the blitzes, Sylvania Township police Lt. Frank Arvay said.

Sylvania Township police will have extra officers watching Central Avenue between Reynolds and Centennial roads from tomorrow through March 27.

Officers participating in the enforcement efforts are paid overtime through state and federal grant money.
