<font face="verdana" size="1" color =#CC0000><b>* NEW * </b></font> Escapee turns herself in
3/23/2005A pregnant Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio inmate who escaped Tuesday after assaulting and overpowering her corrections officer turned herself into authorities this morning.
Aurelia Dyer, 21, turned herself into Toledo police and U.S. marshals at 2464 Fulton St. at 8:30 a.m. She has been charged with escape and felonious assault in the incident, police said.
Dyer was being escorted to an obstetrics clinic in the St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center Family Care Center, 2213 Franklin Ave., about 1 p.m. Tuesday when she escaped. Dyer is accused of punching corrections officer Lisa Osborne in the nose and choking her with either her handcuffs or belly chain until she was unconscious, police said.
She was transported this afternoon to CCNO in Stryker.
