UT police won't charge student for false report

The University of Toledo student who fabricated a story about being stabbed on campus will not face criminal charges related to the incident.

UT police decided to refer the case involving Cassandra Livingston, 22, of West Toledo, to the university's counseling center instead of pressing charges.

On March 9, during UT's spring break, Ms. Livingston claimed she was attacked outside of the Health and Human Services Building. She was treated at Toledo Hospital for what turned out to be self-inflicted knife wounds in her left thigh, right shoulder, and neck.

Ms. Livingston later recanted the assault story.
