A female inmate who escaped from a corrections officer while on her way to a medical visit this week now faces charges of escape and felonious assault.

Aurelia Dyer, 21, was returned to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, Stryker, yesterday after Toledo Municipal Court Judge C. Allen McConnell set bonds on her totaling $70,000.

Judge McConnell set bond at $50,000 for the assault on CCNO corrections officer Lisa Osborne and $20,000 for escape. According to reports, Dyer hit and choked Ms. Osborne until she was unconscious Tuesday afternoon while the officer and Dyer were in a jail van at St. Vincent Mercy Family Care Center, 2213 Franklin Ave.

Dyer, who is three months pregnant, was there for a checkup. She turned herself into authorities the next day.
