FINDLAY - A Findlay businessman has been charged in U.S. District Court, Toledo, with failing to pay more than $3.2 million in federal payroll taxes.

Tony M. Tate, 44, co-owner and vice president of American Digital Technologies, a cable company in Findlay, was charged with failing to account for and pay to the Internal Revenue Service payroll taxes due from the last quarter of 1998 through 2001.

Federal prosecutors said the $3.2 million consisted of $2.3 million in payroll taxes Mr. Tate had American Digital Technologies withhold from the salaries of its employees, and $863,150 in matching payroll taxes the company was required to pay to the IRS.
