Van Wert teacher admits role in theft of $20,000

VAN WERT, Ohio - A Van Wert teacher pleaded guilty Wednesday in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court to stealing more than $20,000 from the vocational school where she worked.

Judith H. Reiser, 54, was charged with the theft of $8,080.85 by submitting false travel expenses to the Vantage Career Center in 2002 and 2003, and with falsely submitting $14,023.08 in fraudulent insurance claims in 2003.

Ms. Reiser, now retired, was released on a $5,000 bond and has agreed to reimburse the amount lost through her actions. Her sentencing is set for June 1.
