Home invader pulled knife on woman, 87

Toledo police are seeking information through the Crime Stopper program about a man who pulled a knife on an 87-year-old West Toledo woman at her home after he asked to use her telephone.

The man entered the woman's residence in the 1600 block of Travis Drive at 11 p.m. Tuesday. He asked to use the phone then pulled a knife, threatening her and forcing her to give him some cash. He pushed her onto the floor and ransacked her bedroom.

He took cash and costume jewelry, police said.

The suspect was described as white, in his early 20s, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds. He has short, reddish-blond hair, an earring in his right ear, and was wearing a red T-shirt, black sweatpants, and white tennis shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stopper program. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.

The Crime Stopper committee announced its latest round of rewards for tips that led police to suspects in various cases, including burglary, bank robbery, and murder.

The rewards, totaling $8,150, go to callers A9765, B0104, B0170, B0198, B0212, B0231, B0232, B0237, B0242, and B0258.

They are asked to contact the Crime Stopper program for their rewards.
