A reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons who killed and mutilated at least six dogs in Toledo.

The dead dogs, all with their heads and paws cut off, have been found along railroad tracks near Curtis and Roff streets in central Toledo since Wednesday.

The group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals yesterday offered up to $2,500 for information leading to an arrest. The organization urged pet owners to keep animals indoors.

PETA urged anyone with information about the killings to contact the Toledo Area Humane Society.
