Police seek tips on Secor Road home burglary

Toledo police are seeking tips on a man who broke into an elderly couple s home Sept. 8 and took their vehicle and other items.

The man kicked in a service door to the garage of the residence in the 5900 block of Secor Road about 11:15 a.m. He took a flat-screen television, a computer and monitor, checks, credit cards, and a collection of quarters worth about $100, police said.

The couple was pulling into the drive and saw the garage door open and the suspect backing out of the drive in one of their cars. The 79-year-old victim got of the car and approached the suspect, who partially got out of the car.

The suspect then said, I m leaving, and drove eastbound across the lawn in their car. The victim tried to follow the suspect, but lost him. Police later found the car abandoned at an apartment complex in the 6000 block of Secor.

The burglar was described as white, 35 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall.

He weighed about 160 pounds, was clean shaven and bald, with dark brown hair on the sides.
