Perrysburg Township police target traffic scofflaws

10/20/2005

Perrysburg Township police will target State Rts. 20, 25, and 795 this weekend and next weekend, looking for impaired drivers and monitoring speed and seat-belt violations.

The department received a $20,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Public Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to conduct traffic enforcement on weekends and holidays that traditionally have high rates of drinking through next September, police Lt. Jim Pellek said.

Tomorrow and Saturday are considered part of homecoming season. Oct. 28-29 is a candidate for enforcement because it is close to Halloween.
