2 face added charges of plot to kill prosecutor

BOWLING GREEN Two northeast Ohio men facing trial for stealing anhydrous ammonia to manufacture methamphetamine were indicted yesterday on new charges of threatening to kill the prosecutor and investigator involved in their case.

Kyle A. Wortman, 19, and Louis Janson, 21, both of Geneva, were indicted by a Wood County grand jury for intimidation and attempted intimidation of an attorney, victim, or witness in a criminal case. They allegedly threatened assistant prosecutor Gwen Howe-Gebers and an agent who works for the Wood County Sheriff s Office.

Mr. Wortman and Mr. Janson are scheduled to go to trial in Wood County Common Pleas Court on Nov. 15 for six felonies stemming from their Aug. 25 arrest outside Luckey Farmers Inc. on U.S. 6 east of Bowling Green. Deputies said they caught the men stealing anhydrous ammonia. The pair was allegedly driving a stolen pickup truck and had a sawed-off shotgun with them.
