NAPOLEON Two Henry County men are to be arraigned this week for an attempted armed robbery last month in Hamler, Ohio.

Matthew S. Bruns, 18, of Malinta, Ohio, is to be arraigned tomorrow, and Eric M. Clark, 21, of Holgate, Ohio, is to be arraigned Friday in Henry County Common Pleas Court on aggravated robbery, felonious assault, and abduction charges, all three of which carry firearms specifications.

The men, who were indicted by a Henry County grand jury on Thursday, are accused of attempting to rob a man on the street in Hamler about 3:15 a.m. Oct. 8, beating him, and then holding both the man and a teenage girl who came upon the scene at gunpoint.

Bruns and Clark were attempting to get cash from the man as he walked home, but they fled with nothing, Henry County Prosecutor John Hanna said.

Both men have been held in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio near Stryker since the incident.
